Presented by: Demond Blanton, Enterprise Risk Management
Laura Lyons,
 Enterprise Risk Management
Nhan Nguyen, Sitmatic

Participants of this workshop will learn about the science of how people interact with their work environment. In application, ergonomics is a discipline focused on making products and tasks comfortable for the user.  Ergonomic stressors in our modern, computer-driven office environments can lead to ergonomic-related injuries of the wrist, shoulder, neck and back if proper care isn't taken to ensure a proper set-up of work-stations. Ensuring that your work station(s) “fit” you is the most important thing.

Join us to learn more about how you can prevent long-term work injuries and what resources are available on campus to help.

Evacuation Chair Training
4pm - 5pm, Library 121
Presented by: Jeff Madigan, Environment, Health & Safety

An evacuation chair is a device designed to assist People with Reduced Mobility (PRM) to safety and quickly egress a multi-story building in the event of an emergency evacuation. During an emergency, elevators in multi-story buildings are unsafe to use which creates a difficult situation for people who are not able to or comfortable enough to evacuate through the stairway. This training will teach you how to assist with safe and proper operation of these chairs in the event of an evacuation.
