SF State's Youth Protection Program helps the campus safeguard youth by defining the bandwidth of acceptable behavior when interacting with minors and establishing minimum requirements for youth programs operated by or at San Francisco State University. Who does this apply to?
- Programs in which the university has responsibility for the care and direct supervision of minors in the program.
- SF State's departments and/or groups, sponsoring, offering, or approving a program which involves minors and/or provides University housing for minors participating in a program.
- A non-University group utilizing University Facilities.
This does not apply to:
- Programs in which the expectation is that the minor participants will be under the care and supervision of others (e.g., tour groups, K-12 schoolteachers, parent and legal guardians).
- University faculty, staff and others who interact solely in academic classes or traditional academic settings with matriculated SF State students under 18.
